Two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso will take part in the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed on 12th July. The Spanish driver will present the Aston Martin Valiant, a unique model that he helped create in collaboration with the Q by Aston Martin department.
An unmissable event for enthusiasts
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the major events in the automotive world. Every year, more than 200,000 visitors flock to the south of England to admire the most high-performance and exclusive racing and road vehicles. The famous 3.8-kilometre hill climb offers the opportunity to see these racing cars in action, driven by renowned drivers. Fernando Alonso is not at Goodwood’s first time. In 2005, as a Renault driver, he had already climbed the hill at the wheel of a Formula 1 car. This time, he will be putting on a show with a road-legal car.
The Aston Martin Valiant: a tailor-made creation
On Friday, July 12, Alonso will drive one of the 38 Aston Martin Valiantsan exceptional model born from a collaboration between the driver and the British brand. This racing car with a classic yet aggressive design is equipped with a twin-turbo V12 engine developing 745 hp and 753 Nm of torque. A rare feature on this type of vehicle: it has a manual gearbox. “The Valiant was born from my passion for driving at the limit,” explains Alonso. “I really enjoyed working closely with the Q by Aston Martin team on the design and technical specifications. I think we have created a true masterpiece.”
A star expected at Goodwood
The Aston Martin Valiant is set to be one of the big attractions at the Goodwood Festival. Unveiled just a few days ago, this ultra-exclusive model is already generating a lot of interest. The fact that it will be driven by Fernando Alonso himself will only increase its popularity with the public. Aston Martin will not only present the Valiant at Goodwood. The British brand will also exhibit other prestigious models such as the Valkyrie, the Vantage, the DBX707, the DB12, the Valour and the Victor, a supercar unlike any other.
Carlos Sainz also present with Ford
Fernando Alonso will not be the only Spanish champion present at Goodwood. Carlos Sainz, four-time winner of the Dakar Rallywill also be there. The Madrid driver will unveil the Ford Raptor T1+ with which he will participate in the next edition of the famous rally-raid. Sainz, who won the Dakar 2024 with Audi last January, will team up at Ford with Nani Roma, a two-time winner of the event. Two other drivers, whose names have not yet been revealed, will complete the Ford team for the next Dakar. The Goodwood Festival of Speed therefore promises to be an exceptional event for motorsport fans. The presence of champions such as Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, combined with the presentation of exceptional vehicles such as the Aston Martin Valiant, promises a high-flying spectacle on the famous English hill.
